One Sunday we had an impromptu birthday party for Reed. Since we hadn't planned it, we just improvised on the cake. Reed loves, love, loves his Disney Cars cars so we made a little racetrack cake for them.
Reed was very interested in it and had a tough time not touching while dinner was getting ready.
Who needs utensils?!
Since we usually throw away leftover cake anyway, Reed got to have some fun with it after everybody had a piece.
The Aftermath:
At two, Reed is a super fun kid. He loves cars, trains, balls and baby dolls. Every time he goes down for a nap or to bed he has to be tucked in with either a car, a doll, or a football. He makes great car noises and communicates very well through body language but he isn't speaking much yet. Reed has a temper but we still think it's pretty cute when he gets all red-faced and yells at us. He's also the sweetest brother around. He adores Adelyn like I've never seen. He plays with her, makes noises to try to make her happy, and is always eager to help wrap her up for sleep. Reed loves to be helpful. He never comes in from grocery shopping without a bag of groceries. If his siblings are doing chores, he wants a rag and his own spritz of cleaner. Reed is THE messiest eater I've had. Every morning after his cereal I have to clean the table, the table legs, the bench, and the floor. I think he's the messiest because he refuses a booster seat and has to sit on the bench with his siblings. If the three of them pile onto the bench first, he walks up and says, "My spaw!" and pushes someone off. :D Reed's #1 favorite toy is the Strider bike we got him for his birthday but we couldn't save it and gave it to him months early. After a few months on it, he glides around and keeps up pretty well with the big kids. This little boy thinks he can do anything that his siblings do and really loves playing sporty things with Dad. We sure love our Reed and are so grateful to have blonde little blue-eyed boy in our family!!
