Carnival - Caribbean Style

This week is Saba's Carnival Week.  Every island in the Caribbean (that I know of) holds its own form of carnival.  Tradition is to dress up in exotic costumes and parade around.  The celebrations go every night for a week.  We went down to the parade on Saturday to check it out.  Unfortunately it was Saba's smalles Carnival turn-out in a few years but we still enjoyed seeing the costumes.
We didn't stay long, though because these:
got to upset by this:
This is actually only one of 3 bands that played in the parade.  They play their music louder than I have ever heard music played before!  Eli lasted about 5 minutes, just enough time to snap a few pictures, before he started crying because the music was so loud.  Oh well, it was fun to see the uniqueness of Saba's heritage, if only for a few minutes!

You should get us one of those two piece outfits to prance around in...maybe not!
Neat to see though!
